Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • I have prepared my manuscript in accordance with the Authors' Guidelines.
  • I verify that the submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document format.
  • I acknowledge that my manuscript follows the required Manuscript Template.
  • I certify that the manuscript complies with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards.
  • I declare that this manuscript has not been previously published, nor is it currently under consideration by another journal.
  • I accept full responsibility for any issues related to copyright infringement, plagiarism, or other violations, including proper permissions for third-party materials.
  • I take full responsibility for securing permission from copyright holders to reproduce any illustrations, tables, figures, or extensive quotations previously published elsewhere.
  • I verify that all references and citations follow APA 7 referencing style.
  • I acknowledge that I have submitted the paper using blind review format.
  • I understand that no additional author(s) can be added after the editorial decision is made.
  • I confirm that all authors have been registered during the submission process. As the corresponding author, I accept this responsibility.
  • I certify that language proofreading has been completed prior to submission.
  • I affirm that this manuscript was exclusively conceived and written by the listed author(s) and has not been generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) or any other external parties.

Author Guidelines

Frontiers in Research accepts research articles, critical perspectives, short communications, review articles, case reports, and book reviews in English, Spanish, and Turkish through a double-blind peer-review process.

Submission Requirements

Manuscripts are submitted through our online submission system Open Journal Systems 3.3.0.13. Please register all authors during manuscript submission, as this is the corresponding author's responsibility. Authors cannot be added during the review process or after editorial decisions.

Language: Manuscripts accepted in English, Spanish, and Turkish. Authors must use one language consistently throughout the manuscript. Language proofreading is mandatory before submission.

Originality & Plagiarism Policy: Frontiers in Research has zero tolerance for plagiarism. All submissions undergo similarity detection software screening. Authors must ensure complete originality and proper attribution of all sources. Submissions must be original works that have not been published or are under consideration elsewhere.

File Format: Submit manuscripts in Word format with tables and figures embedded in the main text.

Author Information: Include full names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID numbers for all authors on the title page. One corresponding author must be designated.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscript Structure: Your manuscript should be compiled in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text (introduction, methods, findings/results, discussion, conclusion, and implications); acknowledgments; declaration of conflicting interest; funding; about the author(s); references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages); figures; figure captions (as a list).

Word Limits: No word limits for any article type - flexible length policy.

Style Guidelines: Use single quotation marks except where 'a quotation is "within" a quotation'. Long quotations should be indented without quotation marks. Maintain consistent spelling style throughout.

Technical Specifications

Abstract: Unstructured, 250 words maximum, including 3-5 keywords.

Figures: High quality required (1200 dpi line art, 600 dpi grayscale, 300 dpi color). Preferred formats: EPS, PS, JPEG, TIFF, or Microsoft Word.

Tables: Should present new information, not duplicate text content. Supply editable files.

Equations: Ensure equations are editable in Word documents.

Supplemental Material: Videos, datasets, and supporting files can be published via Figshare.

Data Deposition: Deposit research data in recognized repositories with a DOI when sharing or making data open.

References: Follow APA 7th Edition style. Ensure all in-text citations appear in the reference list and vice versa.

Review & Editorial Process

Articles undergo initial editorial screening followed by double-blind peer review. The complete evaluation process typically takes 1-2 weeks for initial decisions. Authors must respond to reviewer feedback using the Manuscript Revision Form.

Publication Process

Accepted articles undergo design and publication preparation, including DOI assignment. Following these processes, articles are typically published within 5 days of final acceptance. Frontiers in Research provides complimentary basic proofreading for accepted manuscripts to ensure language standards.

Required Statements

  • Funding: Specify grant details using the format "This work was supported by the [Funding Agency] under Grant [number xxxx]" or state "This research did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors."
  • Disclosure: Declare competing interests or state "The authors report there are no competing interests to declare."
  • Data Availability: Provide information about data access and repository details where applicable.
